Is your network performing slowly?
Many networks are initially designed and optimized based on the basic functionality requirements during the setup. As your business grows, additional hardware and software is brought in and added to the network and it is pieced together. Vendors such as printer/copier, VoIP and specialty software typically install their software and may ensure that it works; however, do not check the impact on other services. Some recommedations for the health of your network...
We recommend running all network maintenance at night so as to not increase any daily network traffic or tax the resources (Memory, CPU) of the local computers. Depending on the company policy, we can shut the computers down after the maintenance is complete.
Microsoft produces about 100 patches per month, new viruses are created every day, and hackers, crackers & exploiters are always lurking. Threat agents can be external or internal. We recommend running Security/Maintenance often but no less than once a month. Some customers run weekly maintenance checks and security scans twice a week.
We will run domain-wide full virus scans and or schedule scans based on the needs of your business. Patch installation can occur during the scheduled maintenance window or at another time that is best for you and the performance of your network.
